WP5/6 Meeting in Frankfurt

In May 2024, a very productive CORNERSTONE workpackage meeting took place in Frankfurt a.M./Germany with WP leaders from WP5 (focus on integrated decision support tools for water circularity) and WP6 (focus on exploitation potential of new wastewater treatment technologies) – 20FIFTY Partners and DECHEMA.

CORNERSTONE is seeking to deliver on the EU’s Twin Transition objectives in Green and Digital to develop and mainstream water circularity and resource recovery solutions at scale across industry. So, how can we provide elements related to the replicability and scalability of the technology? With the development of an integrated toolbox – a Decision Support Tools for deployment of Circular Process Technologies to support water, energy and solute recovery in industrial processes – the CORNERSTONE partners will provide step-by-step guidance to industry to transition to sustainable outcomes.

The basis of this development will be a review of existing and upcoming EU policy and legislative context to assess the industrial current state in regard to water, energy and solute recovery from wastewater processes. Our discussions during the meeting resulted in considerations around Decision-Making Landscape​.There was great progress made on key project planning activities as well as an opportunity to enjoy good company and a short trip to the beautiful city.
